Historical Origins
Tirhani Group Holdings (TGH) was established in 2001 as a holdings and investment company initially with interests in auctioneering, business consulting, construction and research. The company was originally known as Tirhani Investment Holdings (TIH) and was officially renamed Tirhani Group in 2006. By this time, TGH had diversified into auto dealership, funeral insurance, funeral services, logistics, oil retailing, rail transportation, real estate, skills development and training. TGH restructured and consolidated its holdings and investment portfolio in December 2012; with diversified divisions in construction, disposal services, funeral insurance & services, investments, logistics, resources, training/skills development and recycling/ waste solutions.

Mission Statement
We establish, acquire or invest in operational companies wherein the equity is significant and the participation is meaningful and active at both governance and managerial levels. As a supporting strategy, TGH recruits, trains and retains world-class management to run its divisions, subsidiaries and investment companies in accordance with global best practices.

Dr Tirhani Ezekiel Mabunda

Vulani Mabunda holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Statistics from the University of Zululand. He is the Chief Operations Officer at Tirhani Group Holdings, a diversified entity that has interests in Logistics, Waste Solutions, Training Services, Disposal Services, Construction and Funeral Services that operates within SADC.
Vulani is an expert in logistics and business process analysis, due to his academic background of mathematical statistics and his years of experience as a business consultant. His grasp of probability and understanding of risk make him an invaluable member of any management team. The analysis and input he gives provides key insights into the side of the business that is unpredictable and often difficult to manage.
Vulani has been exposed to many different business environments ranging from Banking, IT, Railway Safety & Signalling, Recycling and Passenger Transport. The knowledge he has acquired has made him versatile, as he is able to adapt to different situations. Solving problems with the required tools rather than having a one track minded approach to analyzing situations.
Tirhani has had an illustrative career as an administrator, educator and entrepreneur. Tirhani started his career as a clerk in the civil service in 1981, branched into teaching in 1988 and became Registrar of the Giyani College of Education between July 1990 and December 1993. Tirhani started his business career on a part-time basis when he ventured into the taxi business in 1988.
Tirhani launched his formal business career within the retail sector in 1993, after selling his fleet of three (3) minibus taxis and buying a Nandos franchise. He ended up owning two Nandos shops. During 1996 and the early part of 1997, Tirhani did part-time consulting for Statomet; a research division of the University of Pretoria. This development launched Tirhani’s consulting career. He moved to Johannesburg and joined Africa Now Consulting as Managing Director in 1997. Shortly thereafter, Tirhani co-founder Plus 94 Research in 1998 and served as Executive Director until 2000.

Tirhani holds a Diploma in Public Admin from the University of the North (1984), BA from the University of the North (1987), Higher Education Diploma from Unisa (1989), Honours in Business Administration from the University of Stellenbosch (1993), Certificate in auctioneering from South African Auctioneering College (2003), Accredited Auctioneer Real Estate from the National Auctioneers Association, US (2008), Benefit Auction Specialist from the National Auctioneers Association, US (2008), Certificate in auctioneering from Reppert School of Auctioneering, US (2009), Chartered Institute Auctioneer (CAI) from the University of Indiana, US (2010) and holds a Chartered Practitioner Real Estate (CPRE) designation.
He completed his PhD (MOTI): Management of Technology and Innovation with Da Vinci Institute Business School of Leadership. Tirhani is a business leader who holds numerous past and present positions including Chairperson of the Giyani Town Taxi Operators (1989 – 1993), Chairperson of the Giyani Business Forum (1994 – 1996), Director of the Limpopo Development Corporation (1995 – 1999), Chairperson of RealNet Holdings (2009 – 2010) and Chairperson of the South African Professional Auctioneers Association (2014 – Date).
Lloyd Mhlanga

Lloyd is a member of UMkhonto we Sizwe Military Veterans Association (MKMVA). He joined the African National Congress and UMkhonto in 1976 and has been a member till its disbandment in 1991, after which he worked in various positions in the ANC up to the introduction of democracy in South Africa in 1994. Lloyd holds many qualifications ranging from Defense Strategy, Certificate in Police Policy Formulation, Program on Presidential Strategic Development Leadership, Diploma in Macro Economic Policy Formulation and Program on Macro-Economic Policy. Lloyd also attended many Senior Management Courses from the National Intelligence Agency. During 2009, Lloyd was contracted as the Special Advisor to the Minister of State Security. This position exposed him to policy and legislative formulation and the functioning of the executive and cabinet.
Lloyd has a clear understanding of the legislative environment in South Africa including, the Public Finance Management Act of 1999, Labor Relations Act of 1995, Promotion of Equality and Prevention of unfair Discrimination Act of 2000, National Small Business Act of 1996 and all other related policies and regulations. Llyod joined Tirhani Group Holdings as Stakeholders Director in 2015.
